This article is for small businesses who use Xero. Add a type to an earnings pay item set up as an allowance so Xero can group allowances when you report them to the ATO. If you add or edit an allowance, you must assign it to one of six types: Car, Transport, Laundry, Meals, Travel or Other. Xero will use the type to group allowances for reporting purposes.
